Time is money

For this image, first I downloaded the image of Japanese 1000 yen, which is just worth about $10, and cut the oval-shape part out in the yen. Then, I used mask so that the watch would peek out from underneath the money. I also added other two layers, one for background and the other for laying it on the watch, in which I made them transparent.

I played with the colors after adding all the images. The antique and metallic color and quality of this image represent the past and present. The distorted shape of 1000 yen is supposed to indicate it’s coming towards the future.

In fact, because the method of using mask for the watch did not have a good result, I used different method, instead. After bringing the mask to the trash box, I just put the watch layer on top of the money. By using the fuzzy brush, I erased the unnecessary part of the watch and then distorted it so that the shape would fit the oval shape. Then I used mask. I cut out the part on the background, which I wanted translucent. And done!

I thought that you did a great job at making everything fit well together. It doesn't look like it has been edited and that is really awesome. great job!

This is really cool. I like the gears in the background and the color, it makes it feel like it came from the 1800s.
