Time Flies
Pretty sure we can all relate to this metaphor! For this project I found a clock, set of wings, a bunch of sketchy clouds, and played around with the lot of them. I duplicated the wing layers, made them bigger and lessened the opacity for the flapping effect. I also did a motion and wind blur on the clock and wings. Finally, I messed with the cloud's size and opacity. I tried to give the picture more depth with the cloud tonality- darker in the foreground, lighter in background.
"buns in the oven"
I really wanted to do something that had to do with my twin sister, so I picked a photo that we took last year that looked as if we were in a mothers womb, so I thought that this would be perfect for this assignment. I got the photo from istockphoto.com and then cut out the tummy part of the photo and put my picture in. I edited the colors, and used the smudging, burning, dodging tools. I also used the lasso tools. I also played with the opacity to get the image that I liked. The only thing that I had problems with is the top part of the arm. I could not get this to look realistic like the rest of the photo. There are some things I need to still figure out when using this program I think, hopefully it will come in time though. Hope you all like this! :)

Two for one
Here's my metaphor image. This is supposed to be a take on the word blockhead; as in, "you're a..."

First I found an image of a cinder-block wall and then used Edit > Transform > Perspective/Skew to adjust them into a block shape. Then, I found some hat and some dude in a suit and threw those under it. I used masks to remove the surrounding environments for both of those images. Finally, I made the image grayscale.
Also, here's my previously un-submitted "a little something extra" assignment.

There's a lot of things I did to this image, but essentially I used the clone tool to add the glasses/nose/cigar onto the monkey's face, then I painted over the nose/cigar with black and white on a blended layer to try and match up light sources (though it didn't turn out that well.) Finally I painted some cheesy smoke and messed with the curves to create an interesting looking color scheme.

blog #3-- Smiled Sadly
Stomping on the Constitution!

My first layer was a cropped image of the constitution. The next layer was Bush's image, which I created with a layer mask with feathered edges and a 70% opacity. I used a luminosity blending mode on this layer to soften and change the color. For the boots layer, I inverted the image to make the markings dark (it was a boot print in the snow) and I copied the image and flipped it and then rotated it so it looked like a left/right combination. I changed the exposure slightly on the boot prints too.

Choices are Crossroads

Choices are Crossroads
For this image I took a crossroads sign and cut the background out. I added the question marks to act as teh background. Using the filter i distorted the background to give it an Ocean appearance, and i aslo distorted the sign as well. I added words on the sign to show different choices that people have to make through their life. The crossroad shows that you can choose the direction you want to go in. I used a mask to make the background show through as well.

#3 Pieces

The metaphor I used was from the song Woman Tonight by the artist Atmosphere.
In this Image, I took several pictures of the artist and turned them into pieces of a puzzle. I first had to create an alpha mask of a puzzle piece. Next I copied layers and added the mask until one entire image had been turned into pieces. Then I started all over with each of the following Images. Most of the edges are still rough... or appear to have missing pieces. I could have gone through and added more images until it was a perfect square, but I like it better with pieces missing...and not fitting right. To understand you may need some more insight on Slug(the singer). He doesn't fit into his life quite right, so having pieces missing...or fitting at weird angles coming together as something not at all perfect and tidy is very fitting for this song.
Also, in each mask I used inner and outer shadows and glows, as well as a color overlay with some opacity to create similar edges and coloring for the pieces.
Blog #3

I found these 2 photos(sign and road map) at a stock photo site. what I did was cut out the sign from its picture and added it to the map, I had to make the pole longer because it was really short. I then copied the pole and made a shadow out of that. I created a layer mask to put the white at the bottom of the photo. After rasterizing the text I reflected it and distorted it a little bit. I wanted it to look like a reflection in water. Lastly, I changed the hue and saturation of the sign and I used the Poster Edge filter for it as well to give it a "comic look". Hope u enjoy

Are ninja kicks really possible?
I did both of my assignments using the same photo. First, I removed the supporting stool/table using the clone tool and the time-stamp as well. Then I "painted" a new foot in using the clone tool again. Doubled the layer and offset it to create a motion blur effect with a little color-correction thrown in.
